Calendar

Our annual Holiday Breakfast with Pat was held on Sunday, Dec. 4 at The Barn in Waynesboro.

Our 10th Annual Fundraiser Tea was just held on Saturday, May 6,1017 at UMFS, 3900 West Broad St, Richmond, 23230
It was WONDERFUL!Stay tuned for the final amount we raised!

Our next meeting will be June 25 @ 4pm at Barbara Dyke's house, 13493 Ashland Road 23005

We will be furnishing a meal for the residents of "the doorways" sometime this summer.

Check back often to hear about other "goings on" of our chapter.

Moss on the James is truly doing what Pat Moss wanted when the Chapters were first started, working in our community to spread hope and joy in the lives of children and adults that have special needs.

Current Projects:
We are so excited about this year and hope you will join us in our fun and fellowship working within our community.

Our main charity this year is United Methodist Family Services. The proceeds of our print raffle and Annual Tea in May will go to support their Mission of being "an unwavering champion for high-risk children and families, collaborating with communities to help them reach their full potential."

We will also be helping other charities, including "the doorways" of MCV-VCU, during 2016-17.

Come help us make a difference.

Past Activities:
We had a small fundraiser (print raffle) last Fall for Paws to Read and raised $1,404!

Our Ninth Annual Tea Party was held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at County Seat Restaurant in Powhatan County. We were pleased to have Pat Moss and her daughters Patty and Becky attend our Tea. Proceeds from the Tea went to the Mesa Vista Therapeutics Farm that provides therapeutic riding as a form of physical therapy for individuals with a range of physical, emotional, cognitive, and social special needs. I'm happy to announce that we were able to present them with a check for $6700 - enough to purchase a therapeutic saddle they had been wanting!

Several of us were able to attend and help with the Moss Collectors' Convention in Williamsburg, VA in September!
It's always great to be with other Moss lovers from around the country and we were fortunate that the Convention was held so close to us!

We sold raffle tickets for our fundraiser print at Pat's Gallery in Waynesboro on Sunday, Oct. 9th. It was a beautiful day in the mountains!

Our past projects include support of a Tea Cup Ministry, started at MCV by the mother of one our members - a tiny silk flower arrangement in a teacup is presented to the patients who cannot receive live flowers or fruit. We have also supported Noah's Children, a hospice program for children; We endowed a scholarship at The Riverside School, a school for children who learn differently; an endowed scholarship for P. Buckley Moss Childrens' Foundation; equestrian therapy programs; Ronald McDonald house; canine rescue programs; framing programs; and print inventory systems.

We collected toiletries for "the doorway" of VCU/MCV.

Each month members earn chances for a year-end drawing of some terrific prizes. Chances are earned by participation during the year. The more active you are the better your chances of winning.

Remarks to Potential Members:
Moss on the James invites Society members in the Richmond, VA and surrounding areas to be a part of our local chapter - become active in our projects focusing on service in our comunity for children's education, fellowship with other Moss collectors and join us on our trips to The Barn in Waynesboro, VA to visit Pat Moss.
